Documentation
Learn how isituprightnow monitors your websites, APIs, servers and cron jobs, alerts your team and keeps your users informed with status pages.
On this page
isituprightnow checks your services around the clock, confirms failures before it alerts anyone, notifies the right people on the channels they use and publishes the status on a page your users can trust. These pages explain every feature, setting and API endpoint.
Start here#
- Getting started — create an account, add your first monitor, connect an alert contact and publish a status page in about ten minutes.
- FAQ — short answers to the questions we hear most often.
Monitoring#
- Monitors — the nine monitor types (HTTP(S), keyword, ping, port, heartbeat, SSL certificate, domain expiry, DNS, UDP), their settings, check intervals, regions and how an outage is confirmed.
- Heartbeat (cron) monitors — let your scheduled jobs report in, with ready-to-paste examples for cron, curl, wget, PowerShell and systemd timers.
Alerts and incidents#
- Alerts — alert contacts for e-mail, SMS, voice calls, Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, Telegram, Pushover and webhooks; alert rules, delays, reminders and verification.
- Incidents — what happens when a monitor goes down: the incident timeline, acknowledging, comments and recovery.
- Maintenance windows — pause alerting for planned work, once or on a recurring schedule.
- Uptime reports — weekly or monthly report e-mails and the Reports page, with the change against the previous period.
Status pages#
- Status pages — public or password-protected pages, custom domains, subscribers, announcements and status badges.
Account and billing#
- Team and roles — invite people and choose what each of them can do.
- Security and 2FA — two-factor authentication, recovery codes, sessions and password rules.
- Billing — plans, payments, invoices, SMS and voice credits, cancellations and refunds.
API and apps#
- REST API — API keys, scopes, errors, the main endpoints with curl examples and the webhook payload.
- Mobile app — the Android app and its critical, alarm-style down alerts.
Concepts in one minute#
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Monitor | One thing we check — a URL, host, port, domain, certificate or heartbeat — on a schedule (the check interval). |
| Status | Every monitor is Up, Down, Paused or Unknown (not checked yet). During a maintenance window it shows Maintenance. |
| Incident | Opened when a monitor is confirmed down, resolved automatically when it recovers. |
| Alert contact | Where alerts go: an e-mail address, phone number, chat channel or webhook. |
| Alert rule | Connects a monitor to an alert contact, with an optional delay and reminders. Without rules nobody is alerted. |
| Status page | A public page that shows the state of the monitors you choose. |
| Account | Your workspace. It has one plan, one or more members and its own monitors, contacts and status pages. |
