Billing

Plans and limits, monthly or yearly billing, payment by card through Stripe or Paddle, invoices, SMS and voice credits, upgrades, downgrades, cancellation and refunds.

On this page

Billing is per account. Only the owner and admins can change it, in Billing. Current prices are on the Pricing page.

Plans#

Every account starts on the Free plan, free forever and without a credit card. Paid plans raise the limits and unlock features:

Limit or feature Depends on the plan
Monitors How many monitors the account can have
Check interval The fastest interval a monitor can use
Regions How many regions one monitor can be checked from
Status pages How many status pages, and whether custom domains are included
Seats How many people (Notify-only members are free)
History How long check results are kept
Features SSL and domain expiry monitoring, webhooks, maintenance windows, incident comments, API access
SMS credits Monthly SMS / voice credits included

When you try something your plan doesn't include, the dashboard shows an upgrade prompt and the API answers 402 with code: "plan_limit" and the limit that was reached (monitors, interval, statusPages, seats, regions or feature).

Subscribe or upgrade#

  1. Open Billing and choose a plan and a billing period (monthly or yearly; yearly costs less).
  2. You are taken to our payment provider's secure checkout (Stripe or Paddle). Enter your card details there — they never reach our servers. You can enter a coupon code if you have one.
  3. After payment you return to Billing and the new limits apply immediately.

Prices are in USD and exclude VAT or sales tax where applicable; tax is calculated at checkout.

Change plan, payment method or billing details#

Use Manage payment method in Billing to open the payment provider's customer portal, where you can update your card and billing details, switch plans and download receipts. While a subscription is active, plan changes are made in the portal.

Invoices#

Billing → Invoices lists every payment (subscription and credit packs) with its number, date, amount and status, and a link to the PDF issued by the payment provider.

Cancel#

Choose Cancel subscription in Billing. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for and doesn't renew; you can resume until then. After that the account moves to the Free plan.

What happens to my monitors on a smaller plan?#

Nothing is deleted. If the account has more monitors than the new plan allows, the newest monitors above the limit are paused; the oldest keep running. Upgrade again and they are resumed.

Failed payments#

If a renewal payment fails, the payment provider retries and we e-mail the owner. The paid plan stays active for a 7-day grace period; if the payment still fails, the account moves to the Free plan as described above.

SMS and voice credits#

SMS and voice-call alerts use prepaid credits:

  • One credit per SMS by default; a voice call costs twice the SMS cost of the destination. Some destinations cost more.
  • Some plans include monthly credits; you can always buy credit packs in Billing. Credits don't expire.
  • Your balance is shown in Billing. When it reaches zero, SMS and voice alerts are skipped (other channels keep working) and owners and admins get a "credits low" e-mail. The same warning is sent when the balance drops to 5 credits or less.
  • You can save an auto-refill preference (threshold and pack) in Billing. Automatic charging isn't active yet, so keep an eye on the balance for now.

Refunds#

See the Refund Policy. To ask for a refund, contact us from the account owner's e-mail address with the invoice number.
