Team and roles

Invite teammates, choose their role (Owner, Admin, Member, Notify-only), transfer ownership, require two-factor authentication and review the audit log.

On this page

An isituprightnow account is a shared workspace: its monitors, alert contacts, status pages and billing belong to the account, and several people can work in it. Manage people in Team.

  • Each account has exactly one Owner — usually the person who created it.
  • Notify-only members never sign in to the dashboard; they exist so their e-mail address can be used as a verified alert contact. They don't use a seat.

Seats#

Your plan includes a number of seats. Members and pending invitations use seats; Notify-only members don't. When all seats are taken, inviting another person requires a plan with more seats — see Pricing.

Invite someone#

  1. In Team, choose Invite a teammate, enter their e-mail address and pick a role.
  2. They receive an e-mail with a link. The invitation expires after 7 days; inviting the same address again replaces it.
  3. They sign in (or create an account) and accept. They now see your account's data.

Pending invitations are listed in Team and can be revoked at any time.

Change a role, remove someone, leave#

  • Owners and admins can change roles and remove members. The owner can't be removed.
  • Any member can leave an account from the Team page. The owner must transfer ownership first.

Transfer ownership#

The owner can make another member the new Owner by changing their role to Owner. The previous owner becomes an Admin. Billing stays with the account.

Require two-factor authentication#

Owners and admins can turn on Require two-factor authentication for the whole account. To do so you must have 2FA enabled yourself. While it is on, members without 2FA can't use the account until they set it up in Settings → Security. See Security and 2FA.

Audit log#

Important changes in the account — monitors, contacts, status pages, members, roles, billing actions, API keys — are recorded with who did them, when and from which IP address. Owners and admins can read the log with the API (GET /account/audit-log, with a session; API keys can't read account/* endpoints).
